Laleh Busheri has done law, is managing editor of a magazine, and healthcare for poor is her cause

Laleh Busheri grew up in Mumbai and completed her studies there. She did her LLB and masters in Law and also worked with a law firm.
And then the world ofu00a0 journalism beckoned. She is currently the managing editor India for a Hong Kong-based lifestyle magazine. "This allows me to indulge in my creative side, " said Busheri. "For me, life completed a full circle 10 years ago when I built a home in Pune. I had a connection with this city, having spent most of my weekends at my grandparents' home in Pune."
Laleh Busheri's roots in the city go back almost a century, when her grandfather's family, descendants of the first Aga Khan, came here. "They had to flee Persia because of political intrigue," she said.u00a0
Her grandfather's family settled in Mumbai initially, having family homes there besides summer homes in the city and Panchgani. Through her grandfather, her family tree can be traced back to the Prophet Mohammed, thus making her a direct descendant of the Prophet, said Busheri. She said, "My maternal grandmother
was the granddaughter of Fateh Ali Shah, the King of Persia, whou00a0 belonged to the Qajar dynasty."
Busheri has an interest in healthcare as well. "Healthcare has been a secret passion of mine. I have organised, worked and assisted in operation theatres at free surgical camps in Chalesgaon," she said. She wants to help people who cannot afford medical treatment. She has volunteered her services to a friend's organisation called Prashanti. "When Dru00a0 Anand Koppiker, India's leading surgical oncologist, the founder and managing trustee of Prashanti and a dear friend of mine, asked me to volunteer my services by administrating the organisation, I readily agreed."
