Deepak Mankar allegedly warned a retired college teacher that he would physically harm his son if he did not accept the deal he was being offered


A Congress corporator and a city builder have been booked for allegedly intimidated a retired professor into vacating property owned by him.






Natur, in a statement to the police, also alleged that he was taken to Congress Bhavan, the party office in the city, where the Mankar tried to negotiate the deal offering Rs 1.25 crore for the property. The family was later threatened repeatedly and his son was warned of physical harm if the deal was not agreed to, Mankar said in his complaint.

The police have filed a case against the accused under various sections of Indian Penal Code, including 336, 337, 384 and 506.

Shiv Sena MLC Neelam Gorhe has demanded a high level probe into the complaint.
