Omar Abdullah was today sworn in as the Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister to head the National Conference-Congress coalition government in the state.
The 38-year-old leader, who took oath in English, is the youngest chief minister of the state and the 11th to hold office.
Former J-K assembly speaker and three-time MLA Tara Chand of Congress took oath as the Deputy Chief Minister. Six-time MLA Abdul Rahim Rather was sworn in as Minister of State.
Other ministers to be sworn in the J&K government are three-time MLA and former JKPCC Chief Peerzadas Mohmmad Sayeed, Taj Mohideen, Nawang Rigzin Jora, Shyam Lal Sharma, all Congress, and Ali Mohammad Sagar, Mian Altaf, Surjeet Salathia from NC.
