Traffic cops to get complaint booklet to take down commuters' complaints
Taking a cue from Mid DAY's auto campaign, the traffic department has come up with a card where commuters can book errant autorickshaws on the spot.
For this, a complaint booklet will be distributed to all traffic policemen and commuters can approach them directly and lodge a complaint.
"We want to start the project in the next two months," confirmed Manoj Patil DCP Traffic.
Referring to MiD DAY's auto campaign against errant auto-drivers, Patil admitted the department was encouraged by the campaign. "We thought of this because we received many complaints during the campaign. Complaint card is a good way to reach out to passengers directly," he added.
Traffic branch has placed an order for a thousand booklets. "We have placed the order, but there has been a delay in printing because of some previous pending bills which will be settled soon," he assured.u00a0 Special training will also be given to cops on how to write the complaint and pursue it in court. Patil said once the errant driver is booked, his licence can be confiscated and there can be a ban on the rickshaw.
