A Noida-based businessman was seriously injured after he was shot at by some unidentified persons on Tuesday night.

The victim was rushed to Fortis Hospital.

The businessman Pramod Chauhan, a resident of sector 23 Noida, was taking a walk outside his home when he was attacked. His bodyguard was reportedly sleeping inside. Chauhan was immediately rushed to Fortis hospital where his condition was stated to be critical.

Police suspect that the attack on Chauhan could be the handiwork of the same gang who had tried to kidnap him last year. The kidnap bid had occurred when 45-year-old Chauhan was coming back after meeting his chartered accountant in Sector 53.

The gun-wielding miscreants had entered his car after ramming into it and had beaten him brutally. Though he had used his licenced pistol to ward off his attackers and had even fired at them, yet he was kidnapped from the spot. However, a day later Chauhan had managed to escape from his captors.
