A head constable's leg was fractured when a minor boy on a scooter hit him in south Delhi, police said Monday.

The boy, a Class 10 student and a resident of Govindpuri, was Sunday riding a scooter near Nehru Place when the incident took place. He was caught soon after he hit traffic policeman Bhim Singh.

"The scooter was found to be in the name of the errant minor's father," police said.

"The boy jumped a red light at a traffic signal. When the traffic policeman tried to stop him, the boy got scared and hit him, before driving over his leg," a Delhi police officer said.

Bhim Singh was admitted to hospital, said the official.
