After a long week of hard work, a bike ride with friends to a deserted spot near the city sounds very exciting indeed. No wonder then that members of The Club Turz go on a trip almost every weekend. Whether they are professionals or students, all of them are fuelled by a passion to ride.

The club was formed on May 13, 2007, by Vijay Thanki, Nikhil Sood, Pushkar Mullay and Ankur Sharma. "We realised that there are many beautiful places worth seeing around Pune and also in the state but no one talks about them. We thought it would be fun to form a group and ride to these places," said Thanki. "We always make it point to take two different routes while going and returning from a destination."
Now, the group has 24 members. Though non-members can participate sometimes, membership is tough. Not because you need to know stunts or had to own a particular brand of bike, but because you need to prove you are a safe biker. Thanki added, "We get calls from non-members and we welcome them to join us on rides but everyone cannot become a member. If someone drives rashly, they cannot join the club. It's a responsible matter to drive in a big group without meeting with an accident."
The group is mostly active during the monsoons.
