Dattatraya Chimaji Shinde (40), a cobbler from Maldhakka Chowk, can't believe his luck, and for good reason. For, while he was crossing the divider in front of the Collector's office, yesterday night, at around 8 pm, he got the shock of his life ufffd quite literally.

"I was crossing the road and as I halted on the divider in front of Collector Office I realised that I was falling down. Before I could grasp what is happening to me, I started trembling and hit the ground, I cried for help but I believe that no one realised what was happening to me," Shinde told this treporter.

"I got a cut on my left thumb when I tried to hold the electric wire for support." he added. Shinde, ho gained consciousness after a while, returned and narrated this incident to his friend Aakash Kale. Both of them then went to Bundgarden Police station and informed the police. "I felt it was my duty," he said. Locals claim that if this tragedy had happened during the daytime, it could have been dangerous, as it's a busy area.u00a0

Shinde added, "The police informed the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited and asked them to cut the power, which they did."
