The employees who had gone on a two day strike last week resumed their agitation today following 'unsatisfactory' response from the government to their pay hike demands.
The employees, from both government departments and public sector units, will stay off their work from February 16 to 18, to press their demands of implementation of the Sixth Pay Commission recommendations, Joint Consultative Committee (JCC) and Employees Joint Action Committee (EJAF), a spokesmen said here today.
The strike has been called for implementation of Sixth Pay Commission recommendations and enhancement of retirement age from 58 to 60 years. The strike has also affected the work in government offices and PSU's across Kashmir valley and Ladakh region.
However, officers were attending work in their respective offices, including civil secretariat, in the winter capital, in the state, they added.
