Double Oscar winner urges media to play positive notes about Commonwealth Games
Though A R Rahman is renowned as a musical maestro rather than a public speaker, the Mozart of Madras on Monday sought to apply the much-required balm on the wounds of the organisers of CWG after all the bad press they received in the wake of several cases of corruption surfacing.

The music director who is composing the theme song for the 2010 Commonwealth Games appealed to the media to go soft on the organisers and stop spreading the "negative buzz". The words would have come as a great relief to the the Organising Committee of the Commonwealth Games in general and to official spokesperson Lalit Bhanot in particular.
It was left to the double Oscar winner to salvage an event, which otherwise was a PR disaster. Though the Organising Committee claimed that the theme song would be previewed at the event, the attending media was left fuming when scribes were told that the musician had to give some finishing touches to the anthem "Swagatham" and it would be released after ten days.
"I don't get distracted by the negative buzz around. I urge the media to focus on the positives and portray a better image of India and CWG in front of the international community," Rahman said.
