Vedic havans in city today for souls of gas leak victims as nation marks 25th anniversary of industrial tragedy
The Patanjali Yoga Peet is holding havans at Mathikere today so the souls of Bhopal gas leak victims rest in peace.

The body, which is headed by yoga guru Baba Ramdev, plans to observe December 3 as Videshi Company Bahishkar Divas (foreign companies boycott day) to protest the Centre's alleged failure to act against the culprits of the 1984 Bhopal tragedy.

"We will perform havans tomorrow for the souls of the 20,000 victims, who passed away in the Bhopal gas tragedy rest in peace. Herbs like tulasi, amruth balli, sandalwood will be offered along with ghee so air is purified as well. We will also present a memorandum to the prime minister through the governor to act against Union Carbide," said Pradeep Urs, president of the state unit of the Bharat Swabhiman Trust, an organisation that draws its inspiration from Baba Ramdev.
People participation
"We will start a movement on December 3 and educate people to act against hazardous chemical factories, especially ones that are particularly hazardous. We will call upon people to act voluntarily against such companies instead of keeping silent till another accident occurs," said Srinivas Reddy, president of the youth wing of the Bharat Swabhiman Trust.
