Four tiger cubs died in a forested patch near Saoli in Chandrapur district of Maharashtra on Sunday. Forest department officials have started a search for the mother of the cubs.

Yesterday, Forest Minister Sudhir Mungantiwar, who is from Chandrapur district, said, "On Sunday, our Forest Department officials found four tiger cubs, who were around three weeks old, in the forest. Three cubs were found dead and our forest staff tried to save the fourth cub, but it also died. The reason for their deaths might be that their mother might not have fed them milk, which is important. Our team has started searching for their mother, who was not found near the spot."
