Externed criminal murdered

A criminal-on-record, Dinesh Uddhav Tupere (35) of Upper Indiranagar, was stabbed to death with sharp weapons by five unknown persons in Khadke Vasti of Bibvewadi on Thursday afternoon at around 4.30pm.

Tupere was externed from the city in 2007 and has several cases, including murder and attempt to murder, registered against him.

“Tupere was a drug addict and had gone to Khadke vasti to get weed. He was wounded by the assailants on his head and hand,” a cop said.

Deputy commissioner of police (zone II) Ramnath Pokle said, “We have the names of the attackers. Two teams have been formed to nab them. However, the reason behind the murder is not clear yet.”u00a0
