Ex-DCP's son-in-law booked for beating traffic policeman

Prashant Bhagwan Pokle (30), son-in-law of a retired deputy commissioner of police (DCP) was arrested by the Faraskhana police with two others at Kumbhar Ves in Mangalwar Peth late in the night yesterday.


The other two accused were identified as Rahul Ashok Kuche (19) and Dinesh Suresh Jadhav (30), both residents of Nanded Phata in Dhairi village. Police Sub-Inspector G C Shaikh, who is investigating the case, said the three young men were in a car a fancy number plate and were stopped by Constable Surendra Sahebrao Sable (26) at Kumbhar Ves at 10.35 pm.




Pokle said the back of his head was injured because Sable hit him with a walkie-talkie.

"We all were in a hurry and going to Ruby Hall for the purchase of medicine for my father-in-law, who had recently undergone a brain surgery," he said.

Pokle and his friends were booked at 11.45 pm under Sections 353 (causing injuries), 332 (beating a government servant), 504 (abuse, 186 (assault) and 34 (conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code.
