Raghavendra Imbrapur, in his complaint, has stated that a group of around 100 advocates attacked assistant sub inspector Adappa, constables Krishnappa and Biresh while they were escorting an accused to the 8th Additional Chief Metropolitan Court.

The accused, H Yuvraj, son of a former under secretary with the state government, had allegedly beaten up an advocate at the Chandra Layout on Saturday following a row over parking issue. The advocates alleged police partiality towards the accused as the reason why they got enraged.

He said the failure of cops in doing their duty irked the association members.

The members have now demanded suspension of a Chandra Layout police inspector and have met the city police commissioner and Home Minister in this regard.

Meanwhile, the Ulsoor Gate police have registered a case against the lawyers for unlawful assembly, rioting, assault and averting a public servant from doing his duty.
