A Delhi police head constable was caught red handed taking bribe from a bus owner by Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) of the Delhi government late on Monday. On July 24 an incident of pick-pocketing of Rs 20000 had been reported from a running blue line bus on Desh Bandhu Gupta Road.

Ramesh Chandra, the accused cop, was looking into the matter. He allegedly threatened the bus owner, Surender Nagpal and demanded Rs 5000 for releasing his bus.u00a0 The bus driver gave Ramesh Rs 1,000 in cash and promised the rest of the payment in a few days.

The bus owner, meanwhile, complained to the ACB against Ramesh. The constable was caught while he was accepting Rs 4,000 from Nagpal. According to Surender Nagpal, he owns a bus that plies on route number 166. Nagpal said that after getting Rs 1,000 the accused constable had changed the details of the PCR call and had written that the call was made mistakenly by someone.
