At 5.15 am, a Thomson Reuters' cab and a BMRCL crane collided with each other just 20 feet away from the mock train on M G Road.
With six people in tow, the Toyota Qualis was heading down M G Road when the driver K V H Krishnamurthy (32), banged into the moving crane.
However, the crane operator blamed the cabbie for the incident.
Kishore Kumar (26), a BMRCL employee, who was on the night shift, said, "I can hardly go above 25 kmph, how could I possibly have driven fast enough to hit the Toyota? He crashed into me."
While the crane got a few scratches in the accident, the Qualis suffered major damages to its front. Nobody was injured in the collision.
