CBI shadow over SC judge

The CBI is investigating the presence of a Supreme Court judge during the narco analysis test of the accused in the Sister Abhaya murder case.

According to the officials, Justice Cyriac Joseph witnessed the procedure at Bowring Hospital two years back when he was the Chief Justice of Karnataka.

"This is a clear violation of procedures and ironically by a senior judge," officials said, adding that they were investigating further to find out his interest in the case.

A team of CBI officials from Cochin who visited Bangalore a few days back to investigate the alleged CD tampering case stumbled upon the information from recorded statements of experts and senior doctors present at the hospital during the test on the accused, Father Jose Putrakoil and Father Thomas Kutoor.

Justice Joseph was the registrar general of the Kerala High court before be was transferred to Karnataka.
