As part of its Entrepreneurship Awareness Drive, the Entrepreneurship Cell from IIT Kharagpur organised a seminar recently to promote the concept of initiating one's own enterprise amongst the students of College of Engineering, Pune. Two eminent industry speakers, Shashank Verma from Cleanstar, India and Ashwini Deshpande who started Elephant Strategy and Design spoke at the event that was held last Friday.
About 150 students attended the seminar where experts gave tips and shared their experiences on starting own ventures.
Shashank Verma spoke about the role of corporate social responsibility and technicalities involved in becoming a capitalist, while Ashwini shared her personal experiences with the students about her struggle in the initial stages of her career. They emphasised more on giving importance to one's personal interest and calibre in choosing a profession.
"It was an interesting learning experience as the session taught us about both the theoretical knowledge and the good spirit required to be a successful industrialist," said Aniket Sirsath, Head of Entrepreneurship Department, COEP. Students were also warned about the hardships they may face while starting a enterprise which students said would help them in making decisions.
