The victim was on the first floor of the high court, when Rajappa stabbed her multiple times on her face neck and body. He then ran towards the toilet and attempted to slit his own throat but was held by a group of advocates and the court's security staff. Rajappa was then rushed to the Mallya hospital.
According to sources, Naveena and Rajappa (28), who worked worked under senior High Court advocate Venkatesh, were having an affair.
Recently Rajappa was upset and was telling fellow advocates that Naveenau00a0 had cheated on him and that he would not spare her.
Naveena was working under senior advocate Prakash Shetty who was shocked on hearing about the incident. "Naveena was a decent advocate. I do not know anything about their affair," Shetty told MiD DAY.
Senior officials, including Joint Commissioner Alok Kumar, Law minister Suresh Kumar visited the spot.
