An ATM with Rs 10 lakh cash has been stolen from the State Bank of Patiala's unguarded ATM centre here, police said today.

When the ATM centre in Singasandra on Hosur Road was opened by bank Manager K Ramachandran in the morning, the second ATM machine in which Rs 10 lakh cash had been kept was found missing, they said.

The bank has not posted any security guard at the ATM centre. "We have asked the bank to furnish us the system generated statement about the cash that was there in the machine", police sources told PTI.

"We suspect it to be the handiwork of a four-member gang that was allegedly involved in the theft of an ATM at Anekal in Bangalore Rural district three months ago" police said.
