A metallic temple bell weighing 50 kg was found dumped today in a road side drainage at Nellithope on Wednesday

Puducherry: A metallic temple bell weighing 50 kg was found dumped today in a road side drainage at Nellithope on Wednesday.


The bell was found in a gunny bag when the sanitary workers of the municipality were cleaning the clogged drainage.



It was inscribed on the side of the brass bell, that it belonged to Sri Muthu Vinayagar Sri Muthukumarasamy temple in Kosapalayam and it was made in 1927, Municipal officials said. The clapper inside the bell was missing, they said.
