A senior police official said that the girl, identified as Kavita, was allegedly kidnapped from the corridor of ward number 19 of Safdarjung hospital.
The police were informed about the incident at around 5.40 am by the girl's family members.
"She was sleeping with her 11-year-old sister in the corridor when she went missing. Kavita's five-year-old brother, Vimal, is admitted in ward number 20 for respiratory disease.
At the time of the incident her mother was with Vimal," said Chhaya Sharma, Deputy Commissioner of police (South).
