Abhisheck Lodha, director, Lodha Group gives his suggestions onu00a0 improving Mumbai's infrastructure

What Mumbai needs is a mayor who is directly responsible for the city. S/he should be given the absolute power and authority. The person shouldn't be affiliated to some political party, the BMC or any such organisation. S/he should be solely accountable for the city's infrastructure.

Our dire need today is to improve our rail infrastructure. AC trains should be introduced so that everyone feels good about travelling in a train. The wealthiest and most powerful people across the world commute by train, so why should it be any different in Mumbai?

Another avenue that needs some thought is sea transport. The city is surrounded by sea, so we should seriously look at improving the water transport system. This will take the load off from Mumbai's roads, which just can't take the traffic anymore.
