Cops solve a record number of cases fearing they will be sent on compulsory leave till they are successfulThis year seems to have been good for the city police in terms of detections, with them claiming to have cracked 202 murder cases out of the 213 reported this year.Taking a strong note of unsolved murder cases, City Police Commissioner Shankar Bidari had decided to send the inspectors on compulsory leave until they solved the cases in their respective jurisdictions. This apparently proved effective, since the concerned officials were compelled to work harder on the cases, and could not make lame excuses. The police with the help of locals, kept a close watch on a school going daughter of the accused, waiting for her parents. After several days, the police finally nabbed her parents Deepak (35) and Suchitra (28), who worked as maidservants at the family's house. The couple later confessed to have committed the triple murder.We managed to nab them because we have been working on the single case with lots of pressure from the higher-ups.
