The protestors also called for the immediate release of all saints of the ISKCON who were arrested in Bangladesh

The Delhi unit of Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) on Monday also held a demonstration at Jantar Mantar  against the attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh

The protest was joined by several people, raising slogans demanding safety of Hindus in Bangladesh. It was was led by VHP Delhi unit head Kapil Khanna

Meanwhile, the ISKCON (International Society for Krishna Consciousness) held protest `kirtans` at its Albert Road centre in Kolkata on Thursday and Friday, demanding the release of jailed Hindu spiritual leader Chinmoy Krishna Das

Das was arrested in a sedition case and was later denied bail by a court, triggering protests by community members in various locations, including the capital Dhaka and the port city of Chattogram

The religious body expressed concern over the plight of religious minorities in Bangladesh

In a separate agitation, the Shiv Sena (UBT) on Monday held a protest in Maharashtra`s Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar against reported atrocities on Hindus in Bangladesh, during which participants burnt the national flag of the neighbouring nation

During the protest held at Kranti Chowk, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Ambadas Danve warned of repercussions, including banning Bangladeshi players from coming to India and financial boycott of that nation, if these attacks did not stop

"The Narendra Modi government must take strict action. Merely protecting Sheikh Hasina is not enough, the Centre must also protect Hindus there. Bangladesh is a tiny country dependent on India," claimed Ambadas Danve, the leader of opposition in the Maharashtra legislative council
