<p>The Haji Ali Dargah was built in the name of Pir Haji Ali Shah Bukhari and it is located on an islet off the coast of Worli in south Mumbai.</p>

<p>Eid al-Adha, a holy occasion was celebrated on the 10th day of Dhu al-Hijjah, the 12th month of the Islamic or lunar calendar. Eid al-Adha is significant culturally and religiously because it remembers Ibrahim (Abraham)`s willingness to sacrifice his son in accordance to God`s commandment.</p>

<p>After its inauguration by CM Shinde on June 10, the northbound carriageway of coastal road till Haji Ali interchange was thrown open to people; they can access it on weekdays between 7 am to 11 pm. On weekends, it is shut for public so the authorities can complete pending work.</p>
