IN PHOTOS: Railway police return 1,018 traced stolen phones to owners

The Mumbai Railway Police successfully traced and returned 1,018 stolen mobile phones to their rightful owners at an event held at the Police Grounds in Ghatkopar. The recovered devices, displayed on a “wall of phones,” included 444 from Mumbai, 216 from other parts of Maharashtra, and 358 from Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, and Madhya Pradesh. The phones collectively are worth around Rs 1.8 crore (PICS/ RAJENDRA B AKLEKAR)

<p>The phones were recovered during the second phase of a special operation conducted between September and November, with focus on the devices stolen over the past three years. In the first phase, 684 phones worth over Rs 1.1 crore were returned in July&nbsp;</p>
