Citizens and Twitter users disagree; sources say civic officials caught up in Covid-19 management and vaccination drive

A Twitter user claimed that there were potholes in Govandi, while another complained about “bad roads” in Kamathipura
Citizens have disbelieved the BMC’s pothole reporting system for showing that Mumbai has 264 potholes. The civic body’s crate tracking platform says 150 potholes have already been repaired. Sources said the figures are underreported.
According to people, even as BMC’s official Twitter account gets complaints about bad roads, bumpy rides and potholes, the system doesn’t register those complaints. Though these are early days of monsoon, there are potholes on Ghatkopar-Mankhurd Road, Andheri, Chembur and Santacruz east, they said.
