BJP corporator Sujata Suraj Patil was elected mayor of the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) on Thursday, while Dashrath Sitaram Bhagat was picked as her deputy.
The election outcome was formally announced by Thane Zilla Parishad Chief Executive Officer Ranjit Yadav, who served as the presiding officer for the mayoral polls. Patil and Bhagat were felicitated after the declaration. The proceedings began with Municipal Secretary Sanghratna Khillare welcoming the presiding officer.
