Initially, the civic-run centres administered a large chunk of the vaccines. The BMC increased the facilities to 257, but the vaccination numbers still dropped. Whereas 82 private centres have increased the number of doses gradually. On Monday, the civic-run centres administered 21,644 doses — 11,153 to the 45 to 59 years age group. Among the total recipients, 19,634 were senior citizens, 315 lactating mothers and 132 students. Only 6,355 Covaxin doses were administered.
Walk-ins for 45+ today
On Tuesday, people aged 45 and above can walk-in for their shots. While 80 per cent of doses are reserved for the first dose, 20 per cent are meant for the second dose.
