Not everything appears smooth between the Shiv Sena (UBT) and the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), with fresh strain emerging after the latter extended support to the Shiv Sena faction led by Eknath Shinde in yet another civic body.
After backing the Shinde Sena in the Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation, the MNS has now extended similar support in the Nashik Municipal Corporation. The move has upset leaders of the Sena (UBT), who consider Shinde’s faction their principal political rival.
