The MSRTC has also clarified that “Until 80 per cent concession holder passengers are not registered under this scheme, the smart card will not be made mandatory”

The National Common Mobility Card (NCMC) for the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) state buses has received an overwhelming response with over one lakh registrations in a week.

“This number is not just a figure, it is concrete evidence of migration pushing towards digital transformation of ST [state transport],” Maharashtra transport minister and chairman of MSRTC, Pratap Sarnaik, said.
