Mumbai Traffic Police had on Monday said that it will observe 'No Honking Day' on August 9 and August 16

Mumbai Traffic Police on Wednesday observed a 'No Honking Day' in the city. With the initiative, Mumbai Police aimed at curbing noise pollution on the streets of the city. The traffic police officials also took action against motorists for violating the norms.
In a statement, the Mumbai Traffic Police said, "A total of 2,117 cases were registered against honking, out of which 1,965 were for honking horns and 152 were against noisy silencers."
