NMMC seizes three commercial properties over non-payment of tax dues

Despite repeated appeals and notices, several property owners have continued to ignore tax payments, the civic body said. Taking a firm stand against the non-payments, the civic administration has decided to proceed with action, without any further concessions or relaxations for defaulters

The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) has intensified its property tax recovery drive and initiated strict attachment action against chronic defaulters. As part of the ongoing enforcement campaign, the civic body on Thursday, seized three commercial properties in Nerul for non-payment of property tax dues.

The action was carried out by NMMC’s property tax department under the directives of civic chief Dr Kailas Shinde, and under the guidance of Additional Commissioner Sunil Pawar and Deputy Commissioner Dr Amol Palve.
