IIT Bombay has issued a clarification after a flyer promoting a workshop on South Asian capitalism surfaced online with the institute’s name without approval. The institute confirmed it had no role in the event, directed organisers to remove its name, and announced it will cut ties with the associated faculty members.

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay has issued a clarification after a flyer regarding a workshop on South Asian capitalism surfaced online across various social media platforms, carrying the institute’s name without approval.
A post regarding a flyer of a workshop on South Asian capitalism was soon brought to the attention of the institute authorities. This workshop was reportedly scheduled to be held at the University of Berkeley in partnership with UC Berkeley and the University of Massachusetts-Amherst for young scholars. However, the IIT Bombay authorities were totally unaware of it.
