Thane tribunal awards Rs 7.76 lakh to man disabled in accident a decade ago

The Motor Accident Claims Tribunal (MACT) in Thane has awarded compensation of Rs 7.76 lakh to a man who suffered permanent disability in a road accident in 2015. The order, passed on March 25 by Presiding Officer K P Shrikhande, brings relief to the petitioner after a long legal process as per PTI.
How the accident happened
The incident took place on August 28, 2015, near a mosque on the Sion-Kurla road in Mumbai. At the time, Wahid Aziz Khan, then 40 years old and working as a driver, was offering namaz by the roadside.
