Mumbai, Thane, and Palghar are likely to witness thunderstorms along with lightning, with wind speeds ranging between 50-60 kmph. According to the weather latest forecast, the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) will experience light to moderate rain initially, but the intensity is likely to increase by the weekend, with potential for heavy rainfall at isolated locations. A yellow alert has been declared in these regions for the next three days, starting Thursday. 

Intense spell of monsoon activity is anticipated this week in Maharashtra. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issued widespread alerts across the coastal and inland districts. The state will experience light to very heavy rainfall, accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds in the next five days, starting Wednesday. 

The coastal regions of Maharashtra, such as Raigad, Ratnagiri, and Sindhudurg are on orange alert later in the week. These regions are expected to witness heavy to very heavy rainfall, with extremely heavy downpours in isolated regions.
