Fire breaks out near tracks between Kalwa and Thane; local services disrupted

Local train services on Mumbai’s Central line were disrupted during the evening peak hours on Friday after a fire broke out next to the tracks between Kalwa and Thane stations, leading to heavy smoke and operational restrictions.

The blaze was reported at around 5.27 pm in garbage accumulated in a drain beneath the railway tracks ahead of Kalwa station in Thane (West). Thick black smoke engulfed the tracks, creating hazardous conditions for train movement.
