CR to implement 10-hour block between Mulund–Thane, Diva–Dombivali on Sunday

Central Railway will operate a 10hour special traffic and power block on Mumbai suburban sections between the MulundndashThane and DivandashDombivli lines from midnight to 10 am on Sunday March 22 to facilitate platform extension works at Thane and Dombivli stations for accommodating 15coach trainsAccording to a press release issued by Central Railway on Saturday the block will be carried out on the UP and DOWN Slow lines between MulundndashThane and DivandashDombivli impacting Mumbai local as well as mail and express servicesThe suburban services will remain cancelled intermittently during the block period Several DOWN Slow services from Parel and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus CSMT between late Saturday night and Sunday morning will be diverted on the Fast line at Mulund and later rediverted to the Slow line at ThaneThese trains will also skip halts at Kopar and Thakurli stations after being diverted via DivaSimilarly UP Slow services departing Kalyan between late Saturday night and Sunday morning will be diverted on the Fast line and will not halt at Thakurli and Kopar stations They will be rediverted between Diva and Thane and further between Thane and MulundDuring the block period fast trains in both directions will make additional halts at Kalva Mumbra and Diva stationsAll local train services between MulundndashThane and DivandashKalyan will remain suspended during the block window Additionally all services originating from or terminating at Dombivali will remain cancelled on SundayMail and express trains will also be affected DOWN trains departing CSMT or Dadar will be diverted via the fifth line between VidyaviharThane and Kalyan while UP trains heading towards CSMTDadar will be diverted via the sixth line between Kalyan and ThaneVidyaviharThe railway administration said the block is essential for infrastructure upgrades and passenger safety and has appealed to commuters to bear with the inconvenienceBlock on TransHarbour line Services to remain suspended between Thane and VashiNerulCentral Railway will operate a mega block on its TransHarbour line between Thane and VashiNerul stations on Sunday March 22 to carry out engineering and maintenance worksAccording to an official statement the block will be in place on both UP and DOWN lines from 1110 am to 410 pmDuring this period train services on the TransHarbour line will remain suspended between Thane and VashiNerul stationsSeveral services will also be cancelled due to the block The DOWN line services for Vashi Nerul and Panvel departing from Thane between 1035 am and 407 pm will remain cancelled Similarly the UP line services for Thane departing from Panvel Nerul and Vashi between 1025 am and 409 pm will be cancelledRailway authorities said the maintenance block is essential for infrastructure upkeep and ensuring passenger safetyPassengers have been requested to bear with the inconvenience caused due to the temporary disruptionThe press release was issued by Dr Swapnil Nila chief public relations officer Central Railway
