Train services were disrupted after a person climbed an overhead equipment (OHE) pole at Kalyan railway station in <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/mumbai-weather-updates-mumbai-to-witness-clear-skies-temperature-to-touch-33-degrees-celsius-imd-predicts-hot-and-humid-conditions-for-monday-23621996" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">Maharashtra</a> on Sunday afternoon, officials said.
They said that the pole supplies power to platforms 1, 1A and 2.
As a safety measure, the power supply on the down local line between Thakurli and Ambivli was switched off.
This led to disruption of <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/mumbai-local-train-updates-central-railway-platform-extension-work-for-15-coach-trains-delayed-after-crane-snags-overhead-wires-near-kalyan-23621982" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">train services</a> on the route.
<h2>Trains delayed</h2>
At least two mail/express trains and three local trains were detained due to the incident, railway officials said.
<a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/mumbai-local-train-updates-record-fine-collections-of-rs-4-06-lakh-in-half-day-ticket-checking-drive-at-bhayandar-says-western-railway-23622006" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">Passengers</a> faced delays as authorities worked to manage the situation.
Railway and emergency teams were at the spot, making efforts to safely bring the person down from the pole.
