Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) on Tuesday said that it will use the rapid-setting concrete on damaged roads in the district.
According o an official statement, the condition of the road from Kajupada and Chena village to Gaimukh Ghat has become extremely poor, causing major inconvenience to residents and commuters. To ensure that repairs last through the monsoon, Thane Municipal Commissioner Saurabh Rao has directed the immediate use of rapid hardening concrete to fix the damaged stretch.
The road from Fountain Hotel towards Gaimukh Ghat is in a critical state. Despite repairs using gravel and bitumen grouting, the surface keeps getting damaged again. This leads to slow traffic movement and forces vehicles to travel in the wrong direction. During peak hours, the traffic jam even affects the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Highway up to Chinchoti and Mira Road, it said.
