In a bid to ensure “Justice for All… Speedy Justice,” the Maharashtra government, under the guidance of Chief Minister (CM) Devendra Fadnavis, has launched a special drive to expedite the disposal of pending cases in the state’s Directorate of Forensic Science Laboratories (DFSL).

In 2025, the laboratories had 1.81 lakh pending cases and received 2.94 lakh new cases. By the end of December, a total of 3,96,879 cases were disposed of, bringing the pending count down to 79,542.
