Police have launched a manhunt for the absconding driver. Initial investigations have revealed that the car belongs to a resident of a nearby housing society. At least five people were injured—two of them seriously—after a speeding car rammed into pedestrians in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra, on Friday morning, an officer informed. The incident occurred around 9.15 am near the well-known Kala Ganpati temple located in the CIDCO area of the city, reported PTI.
According to preliminary information, the accident took place on a service road adjacent to the temple, a stretch often bustling with morning activity.
"A car moving along the service lane hit five to six individuals, leaving them injured. All the victims have been rushed to various hospitals across the city for treatment. Among them, two have sustained serious injuries and are undergoing critical care," the officer said, according to PTI.
