IndiGo airline has announced direct flights between Mumbai and Adampur, Jalandhar starting from July 2, 2025. This flight to Adampur will mark IndiGo’s 92nd domestic flight and 133rd overall destination, further strengthening the domestic network of the flight. 

This new route is anticipated to improve connectivity between Punjab and Mumbai, in order to boost trade opportunities. This survival will strategically improve both business and tourism opportunities. Vinay Malhotra, IndiGo’s head of Global Sales, said, “As Adampur becomes our 55th domestic and 77th overall destination from Mumbai, the new route will boost connectivity and economic opportunities. We will continue to enhance our domestic network, catering to the rising demand for air travel in the region."

Adampur Airport is situated between Jalandhar and Hoshiarpur in Punjab, which was developed to provide commercial operations and regional development. The airport is close to the National Highway 3 (NH-3). The Airport Authority of India (AAI) has constructed a passenger terminal to support commercial civil aviation.  Under the government’s UDAN Scheme, commercial flights at Adapur started from May 1, 2018. Since then the airport has noted a significant rise in passenger traffic with 35,220 passengers commuting between April 2024 and March 2025.
