A fire broke out early Friday morning in a residential building in the Brahmand area of Thane (West). No injuries were reported, and the blaze was brought under control within about an hour, civic officials said.

According to the Disaster Management Cell of the Thane Municipal Corporation, the incident was reported at around 6.06 am. The fire originated in Room No. 404 on the fourth floor of Building No. B/03, a ground-plus-seven-storey structure located at Brahmand Phase 3, opposite Rainbow School in Azad Nagar. The flat is owned by Nilesh Chandrakant Palekar.
