Dr Deepak Tilak, Trustee Editor of the historic newspaper Kesari, former Vice-Chancellor of Tilak Maharashtra Vidyapeeth, and great-grandson of Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak, passed away early Wednesday morning. His last rites can be attended between 8 am to 11 am at Kesariwada.

He made notable contributions to education, journalism, and social service. Through Kesari, he upheld a legacy of nationalism, ethical journalism, and public awareness, faithfully continuing the Tilak family’s tradition of social dedication, said Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar in his tribute to Dr Tilak.

In his condolence message, Ajit Pawar recalled that the Government of Japan had recognised Dr Tilak’s efforts in promoting the Japanese language. He also served as Chairman of the Lokmanya Tilak National Award Committee. His legacy continues to motivate the youth.
