A day after the master plan of the ambitious Dharavi redevelopment project in Mumbai was given approval by the Maharashtra government, Deputy CM Eknath Shinde on Thursday said that Dharavi's redevelopment was the govt's social commitment.

Dharavi, once known as Asia’s largest slum, will soon become one of the most well-planned redeveloped locations in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR), Shinde said.

Meanwhile, a review meeting on the Dharavi redevelopment project chaired by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis was held at Sahyadri Guest House in Mumbai on May 28.
