The technical aspects of the new route, which includes the Coastal Road and other preparations, were the highlights of the Tata Mumbai Marathon (TMM) technical conference held at the TMM media centre at Azad Maidan on Wednesday afternoon. Both the full (42 km) and half-marathon (21 km) routes include the Coastal Road for the 21st edition  of the race scheduled for January 18.

Hugh Jones, Race Director, TMM, said, “The Tata Mumbai Marathon course has truly come into its own now. After years of work and refinement, the dust has settled. The course, with the coastal stretch, adds a refreshing new dimension. It opens up the air, the views, and the experience for runners.” Jones cautioned that this is “a tough course, though, and there is an incline on the coastal stretch.”
