BJP leader Nitesh Rane on Sunday reacted strongly to remarks made by AIMIM national spokesperson Waris Pathan regarding the upcoming mayoral and BMC elections 2026 in Mumbai, stating that Pathan “may have forgotten that he lives in a Hindu nation.”
“He may have forgotten that he lives in a Hindu nation and that Sharia law does not apply here. The mayor here will be someone who follows the Hindutva ideology, because Hindutva is in Mumbai’s DNA. There have been conspiracies to spread a jihadi mindset in the country, but whether it is Waris Pathan or leaders sitting in Pakistan, we will not allow them to succeed,” Rane told ANI.
